Stand up Level 2 with Katie-Ellen Humphries
Got a taste of standup and eager for more? Looking for a reliable place to test material and get thoughtful feedback from an instructor? Maybe you miss the structure and support of a regular class. Standup Level II could be a great opportunity!
Standup Level II is open to anyone who has completed Standup Level I with Instant Theatre or has equivalent* standup experience.
The Level II class will build on skills from Level I including:
- Joke Writing/Structure
- Building a Strong Set
- Stage Presence
- Exploring Premises
Plus get up-to-date information and resources about the local comedy scene.
The Level II class will have a slightly quicker pace than Level I. With the challenge of your first show behind you, more focus will be given to refining material and building a strong foundation.
Level II is appropriate for those interested in pursuing standup comedy as well as anyone who enjoys the challenge of writing/performing or is interested in receiving professional mentorship for any reason in a supportive community of like-minded peers. The class will culminate in an optional live showcase in front of an audience.
*Equivalent experience can be another standup comedy class or independent performing. Level II students must have previous experience performing standup comedy in front of a live audience.
There are no refunds for classes.
